Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women’s Open “Smiles Set on Victory Gather at The Star Hue”
[Yangpyeong=Kang Byeong-koo] The leading contenders of the 2026 KLPGA Tour gathered for the official photocall ahead of the Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women’s Open, signaling the beginning of another highly anticipated championship battle.
The tournament, the tenth event of the 2026 KLPGA Tour season, offers a total prize purse of KRW 1 billion, including a winner’s prize of KRW 180 million. Competition begins on May 29 at The Star Hue Golf & Resort in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
Known for its dramatic elevation changes, blind holes, and challenging undulations, The Star Hue Golf & Resort demands precise shot-making and strategic course management. Players will be tested throughout the week as they navigate one of the tour’s more demanding layouts.
The official photocall featured Kim Jaehee, Bang Shinsil, defending champion Jeong Yunji, Jaravee Boonchant, Park Hyunkyung, and Yoo Hyeonjo. Standing alongside the championship trophy, the players displayed confident smiles and expressed their determination ahead of the tournament.
Jeong Yunji returns to defend the title she captured in wire-to-wire fashion last year, while Thailand’s Jaravee Boonchant enters the event with strong momentum after becoming the first Thai player to win a KLPGA Tour event just one week earlier. She now seeks back-to-back victories.
Bang Shinsil and Yoo Hyeonjo are both pursuing their second victories of the season, while Park Hyunkyung and Kim Jaehee continue to demonstrate consistent form. With a strong field of title contenders assembled, another closely contested championship race is expected.
In addition to the competition, the tournament will feature fan-participation programs, including the “Birdie Wave Hole” and a special “Charity Zone.” Donations accumulated throughout the event will be delivered through the Suhyup Foundation to support welfare programs for Korea’s fishing communities.
